With Halloween just around the corner, I spent the weekend going through the garage in search of Halloween decorations. We have quite a few things already stashed away, and we try to do a few more little things each year. And I always try to get the kids involved- they love painting things in festive orange and black and making their own spooky designs.

The one thing I dread about Halloween is carving the pumpkin. I am not very good at it! My poor pumpkin always ends up with one tooth that looks like it’s about to fall out, and it always looks a bit more sad than spooky. I just don’t have the skills needed to carve a pumpkin. So I went on a quest to come up with another option and came across this cool Pumpkin Painting Book.

You can create something that is really special, and no knife skills required! Plus, your pumpkin lasts much longer than a traditional Jack-o-Lantern so you can keep it on display till Thanksgiving if you want.

Hope you all have a happy Halloween!

Oh and don’t forget to check out some of the Halloween Crafts on KnowMore.com! They are great for kids of all ages and skill levels.

Kids and playdough go together like peanut butter and Jelly, so you will likely be using it alot. Here are some things you already have lying around the house that you can add to your playdough arsenal.

Everything goes into a large plastic or tupperware container that’s big enough to hold the following:

1. 1 or more rolling pins
2. 4 or 5 balls of different homemade playdough(each ball kept in a separate ziplock sandwich bag)
3. Toothpicks, straws, popsicle sticks
4. Plastic toy knives
5. Cookie cutters
6. Garlic press
7. Old Combs
8. Old toothbrushes
9. Melon baller
10. Potato Masher

A variety of children’s playdough tools can also be purchased at most toy stores where playdough is sold, and added to your playdough kit.
