Dear Harold: Can lunch time be learning time?

My daughter is 3 and a half and in desperate need of some socialization!!! She is an only child, and there aren’t many kids in our neighborhood for her to play with. Do you have any suggestions on where I can find a playgroup of kids her own age?

Thanks for asking! I think that playgroups are a great way to get out of the house, and allow your child an opportunity to learn how to interact with other kids. On of my favorite websites is www.meetup.com. It’s a free service that lets people form playgroups, study groups, or just about any other meetup you could think of. All you have to do is do a search in your area, and see what comes up! If there isn’t a group in area, you can always try starting your own. You never know how many other moms are out there wondering the same thing.
